I've been a serious amateur photographer for well over 40 years now. I must have inherited that bent from my great uncle, who traveled all over the world doing both still and movie photography. I've always enjoyed landscape, nature and general photography, but have become enamored with photojournalistic type photography (people and events) in recent years. I really enjoy the challenge of capturing images that tell a story ... especially the expressions on people's faces. I do events for several ministry and non-profit organizations, mostly pro bono, but shoot for my own enjoyment as often as I can.

After a very early Canon film camera (circa 1950's -- given to me by my uncle), I got into Nikon equipment (went through several different film models) and stayed with that ever since. After going digital, I now shoot with a Nikon D300 and D200, much preferring the former after learning its nuances and incredible power. Currently, I have a collection of 7 lenses, ranging in focal length of 11mm. to 400mm. All but one of these (my Tokina 11-16 f/2.8) are Nikkors; some primes, some zooms. Both my tripod and monopod are Giottos.
